Jih-Jung Chen

Professor

biography

Jih-Jung Chen was born in Pingtung, Taiwan, in 1966. He received the Ph.D. degree (in pharmaceutical sciences) from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan, in 1997. From 1997 to 2011, Chen served as a Research Associate/Research Fellow of the Chinese Herbal Medicine Research Center at Tajen University. From 2008 to now, he serves as a Professor at the Department of Pharmacy & Graduate Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology, Tajen University. He is mainly interested in natural products chemistry, medicinal chemistry, functional food, traditional Chinese (herbal) medicine, and new drug development. From 2008 to 2009, he serves as a Director of the Chinese Herbal Medicine Research Center, Tajen University. From 2010 to now, he serves as a Director of the Precision Instruments Center, Tajen University. Up to now, Professor Chen\'s Publications are more than 150 research articles in SCI journals, more than 300 poster presentations, and he serves as Editorial Boards of ISRN Pharmaceutics (Hindawi Publishing Corporation) (2011/03~), American Journal of Applied Chemistry (2013/09~), Journal of Food and Nutrition Sciences (2013/09~), and Jacobs Journal of Internal Medicine (2015/02~); an Advisory Board of The Open Access Journal of Science and Technology (2013/01~), and a Reviewer of more than 45 different international journals (including British Journal of Pharmacology, Marine Drugs, Food Chemistry, Journal of Natural Products….). In 1997~1999, Jih-Jung Chen obtained the First Grade Award, National Science Council, Taiwan. In 2002, 2008, 2009~2015, he received the Outstanding Research Award, Tajen University.
