biography

Valentina V. Ebani is a Researcher of Infectious Diseases of Animals at the Department of Veterinary Science, University of Pisa She graduated in Veterinary Medicine, at the University of Pisa in 1993. She attended the post-degree course in Zooprophylaxisat the School for Scientific Research in Veterinary andAgricolture (Brescia, Italy) in 1993-1994. She obtained the PhD in “Pathology of Small Ruminants” in 1998 with the thesis “Epididymitis of rams by Brucella ovis” Successively she obtained a scholarship for a Post doctoral activity. Actually teacher of Avian Pathology, Pathology and prophylaxis of bacterial infectious diseases, Clinical Microbiology. She is author of 116 papers both international, national, reports, etc.

 

Area of Interest

The main projects of research are about: 1) arthropod-borne infections; 2) leptospirosis; 3) zoonotic bacterial pathogens in domestic and wild birds; 4) antibiotic-resistance of bacterial strains isolated from mammals and birds; 5) study of pathogenicity characters of Salmonella strains isolated from animals.
