biography

He is a Child Neurologist who retired from the military after a long and successful career to embark on a new venture as the chief of the child neurology service at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He taught Child Neurology to residents in Pediatrics and Neurology in several different programs of the Army, Air Force, and at civilian institutions and have had extensive management and leadership experience in the Army Medical Department, tri-service and Veterans Affairs roles. He co-founded the Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society. He have also won awards for clinical teaching excellence at several institutions. He have been active in the Child Neurology Society for more than 25 years and have been involved in the Texas Neurological Society and directed the pediatric annual CME session for two years. In the Army I served in a variety of senior leadership roles: as the Director of Clinical Affairs at two Army hospitals, the Director for Quality Assurance for the Army Medical Department, and served as the Chief Medical Officer for the Army Medical Departments Southeast Regional Command.
