Thesis title: Synthesis and characterization of II-VI semiconductor nanomaterials and investigation of charge

transfer in nanomaterial-organic radical hybrid systems

- Developed new methods to synthesize high quality colloidal semiconductor quantum dots (QD), nanowires (NW),

core-shell heterostructures, thin films and applied microscopic and spectroscopic techniques to characterize them

- Synthesized and modified organic free radicals and prepared QD-free radical hybrids to investigate the nature

of charge transfer reactions for application in photovoltaics and spintronics

- Explored the behavior of QD-hybrids through ultrafast spectroscopy to investigate the mechanism of electron

transfer dynamics in nanomaterials

- Developed theoretical models to explain the role of surface traps and excitons towards the electron transfer reactions

in the QD-radical hybrids

Thesis title: Investigation of nanostructural aggregate formation of porphyrins in presence of ionic liquids for drug delivery and energy applications

- Investigated the properties of self-assembled J-aggregates and nanostructure formation of porphyrins for sensing and targeted drug delivery applications and enhanced the aggregate formation by utilizing green solvents like ionic liquids and glycols
