biography
Carlo Lai in 1997 obtained his degree in clinical psicology at University of Rome Sapienza 1997. In 2002 his post graduated school in clinical psychology. From 2000 to 2001 he was associate researcher fellow at the Birkbeck College. In 2006 he obtained his P.H.D. in psychotherapy and neuroimaging at Catholic University of Sacred Hearth of Rome, where he was lecture from 2006 to 2008. Now he is researcher and Assistant Professor of Psychopathology at the Dynamic and Clinical Psychology Department –Sapienza University of Rome. He is the co-Head of the Clinical Neuroscience Lab and his research interests are about: the communicative competence and social ability in newborns. The neural correlate (EEG and Neuroimaging) of psychotherapy outcome and of psychodynamic process. The biological, hormonal, and neural correlate of pain, consciousness, memory and dream during anaesthesia; The psychological predictors of the transplantation outcome and of surgery intervention on severe obesity.
