biography

He is an internationally renowned clinical and translational investigator, who is recognized for many scientific contributions within the fields of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Gynecologic Oncology. His contributions include publication of over 200 peer reviewed manuscripts, 10 chapters, and 500 abstracts. Additionally he has given over 350 scientific presentations.Dr. Saed has over 20 years of experience in the pathogenesis of tissue fibrosis and cancer. He has been funded by the National Institutes of Heath to study the role of hypoxia and oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of postoperative adhesions.

Area of Interest

Parallel studies investigating the role of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer.
The idea of studying ovarian cancer arose from the need to compare the effects of oxidative stress on the pathogenesis of a malignant overgrowth versus a benign overgrowth, such as postoperative adhesions. These studies resulted in the identification of biomarkers for progression and metastasis of ovarian cancer
