Professor

biography

Dr. Long earned bachelor degree in Marine Botany from Ocean University of China in 1986, and thereafter received her Master degree in Microalgal Cultivation and Application from Ocean University of China in 1989. In 1989, she joined the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology as a professor. Over the past 20 years, Dr. Long has published more than 50 papers with her students and colleagues, and won many honors and awards, such as The first prize of Guangdong Scientific and Technological Award in 2011 (third), The second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2007 (fourth). Furthermore, Dr. Long is vice president of China Association of Oceanic Engineering Marine Resources Exploration Branch, secretary general of Chinese Society for Oceanography Tropical Marine Branch, council member of Guangdong Society for Oceanography, council member of Guangdong Society for Oceanology and Limnology. Her academic interests mainly focus on research of application of marine bio-resources.

1) Application of tropical marine microalgae;

2) Identification Isolation and deposit of tropical marine microalgae;

3) Water ecological restoration.
