Elizabeth Teixeira

biography

Dr. Teixeira received her Masters in Science from The University of Massachusetts and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Drexel University. Dr. Teixeira has expertise in primary care of the adult/older adult population with a special interest in chronic disease management especially diabetes and Parkinson’s disease. She has several publications and presentations related to diabetes complications and neuropathic pain. Dr. Teixeira is both certified as an Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and Diabetes Educator. She is actively involved with graduate education and curriculum development at The College of New Jersey to prepare advanced practice nurses to diagnose and manage the unique needs and health problems encountered by older adults across the continuum. Dr. Teixeira currently serves as a Content Expert Panelist (CEP) for the Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as well as maintains a primary care practice, acting as both clinician and preceptor.
