biography

Dr. Mingzhong Li is a principal lecturer in the pharmaceutical technologies group in school of pharmacy at De Montfort University, in Leicester, UK. He obtained his PhD in process control and instrumentation engineering in Northeastern University in China in 1998. After graduation, he had been workingat different world leading universities, including the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Heriot-Watt University and University of Oxford.He was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical technologies group in the Leicester School of Pharmacy at the De Montfort University in October 2006. His research interests cover many areas in pharmaceutical technologies, including chemical & pharmaceutical manufacturing process on-line monitoring and control, multiphase flow modelling and computation to model process dynamics, using cocrystallistion approach to improve solubility of poorly-water soluble APIs, formulation development and characterisation, in particular, in vitro dissolution tests. He has published over 70 scientific papers.

 

Area of Interest

His research interests include chemical & pharmaceutical manufacturing process on-line monitoring and control, computational fluid dynamics to model process dynamics, cocrystallistion approach to improve solubility of poorly-water soluble APIs, formulation development and in vitro dissolution tests.
