Mr. Xu Changan, born in 1962, received his B.Sc. (majoring in marine zoology, 1985) and M.Sc. (majoring in marine biology, 1988) from China Ocean University (Qingdao, China). Mr. Xu Changan now is a Research Professor and Deputy Director of Engineering Research Centre of Marine Biological Resource Comprehensive Utilization, State Oceanic Administration, P.R. China, he is also an adjunct professor of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Wuhan textile university, and an adjunct supervisor of Ph.D. student in Ningbo University and Jiangnan University. He was awarded for more than 30 research grants, and has published more than 60 papers in academic periodicals home and abroad. He is also a co-inventor of one issued patents and 12 applied patents, a complier of 2 academic books
