biography

Hua Kun LIUis a Distinguished Professor at the University of Wollongong in 2014. She was elected theFellow of Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineeringand received the Vice-Chancellor’s Research Excellence Award for Senior Researchers in 2013, and continuously won the most competitive ARC Australian Professorial Fellowships in the last 17 years (1994-1998, 1999-2003, 2003-2005 and 2006-2010).She is the energy program leader at Institute for Superconducting and Electronic Materials of University of Wollongong. The energy materials research group has grown from one PhD student in 1994 to 30 postgraduate students and 10 full time staffand a number of visiting fellows now. She is a key researcher for Auto CRC 2020 program on energy storage (2012-2017), aiming at achieving high energy density, high power density, safety and long cycle life lithium ion batteries for electric vehicles. She has published more than 600 refereed journal papers, cited 16000 times, H-index = 58, 1 USA patent and 10 Australian Innovation provisional Patents.
