biography

Dr Tran received his BSME from the Vietnamese National Military Academy in 1970, his MSME and Ph.D from the Georgia institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA in 1974 and 1985, respectively. He is currently serves as a Senior Research Engineer at the National Energy Technology Lab of the Department of Energy and an Adjunct Professor of Thermal Sciences in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Material Science of the University of Pittsburgh. His research interests are mainly in areas of combustion, laser ignition, granular materials, nanofluids, and nanoparticles/nanomaterials synthesis and applications. He has published more than 100 journal papers which are now available in the open literature.
